The Farm Party

So the Party has come and gone.  Here is a brief summary of what I decided to do for this theme.  Being a Farm theme, I created the cow, pigs, & chicks made from wood (with my Husbands help).  We rented some hay from a nearby store, which was free to rent (that was nice of them to offer that).  I made the checkered curtains and matching overlays to tie in all the colors an patterns together.  I added black table and chair covers with red sashes.  I made a area where the kids could pick the apples & corn we got from Apple Annie's farm, it included the fresh fruit and vegetable along with some fake vegetable props and along side were brown bags for the kids to bag them in.
Centerpieces - I had set hay stacks on the tables with bucket of fake carrots & limes in them, with a few chicks laying around.  I tied the plastic silverware in napkins and taped little cowboy hats to them.

Behind the cake table, I used  tissue paper and construction paper to make a tree.  I had some leftover green streamer from last years Nemo party and decided to make a small cornfield background.  So I used that as the leaves and then I used my cricket machine to make the corn.  I also added some hay stacks around the cake table, along with come chicks.  I placed push cake pops on the hay bales.

Farm Adventure

One week before the party, my family and I went up to Apple Anne's in Wilcox, AZ to collect some apples, corn, cucumbers, ect.  I wanted to bring back to our farm party some fresh goodies for the kids to take home.  It wouldn't be a farm party without the fresh fruit and vegetables ;)

It was a great adventure, to take my kids to experience some real farming!  Here are some photos.

Farm planning continues

My son's 3rd Birthday party is in about 3 weeks.  I had my husband cut out all the farm animals out of wood for me couple weeks ago and I have finally finished painting them a week ago.  I got some cow print balloons, cake decor made, got some decor hays, some baskets,  plates, cups, utensils, ect.  I gotta say we are almost ready!

But a farm party wouldn't be a farm with out some fresh goodies, sooooo............

Now, I'm trying to find a real farm so I can take my kids 1 week before the party to experience the whole farm experience.  Apple, peach, blueberry picking, but been running into farms being closed or not in season.  We might end up picking corn or pumpkins, I'd say that would work too ;)  Either way, I'm hoping for the kids to have some fun and bring home some goodies in time for the party.  It would make a great addition to add to my party decor, and  it would be more meaningful since it would be picked fresh from the farm.

Next time I write another blog page will probably after the party with pictures of  how it all turned out.  Happy reading :)
